April 14 & 29 - Native Tree Grove Preparation & Planting

We are partnering with the Columbia Association and several interfaith community partners to plant a native tree grove in an area that is currently a forest fragment filled with invasive species. On this date we will be going out to the site to prepare it for the tree planting two weeks later. We need a lot of energetic, strong volunteers to help is prepare the soil for our native trees! Drinks and snacks will be provided! Participants in this project will: increase their knowledge on the issues of watershed health, native plants and animal habitats, and climate change; build understanding of shared ethical values of earth stewardship; expand their capacity to engage in meaningful ecological conservation and restoration work in the community and at their homes through the creation, maintenance, and evaluation of a new native forest grove; Get dirty, make friends, and HAVE FUN!
